This small to medium-sized, thorny tree reaches heights of 6–12 meters (20–40 feet) and features glossy, dark green leaves that provide dense shade. During spring and summer, it produces small, fragrant, yellow-green flowers, followed by sweet, reddish-brown jujube fruits, which are nutritious and widely consumed fresh or dried.
