Melia azedarach

Melia azedarach, commonly known as the Chinaberry tree, is a deciduous tree native to the Indian subcontinent and Australia. It has become widely naturalized in other parts of the world, including the United States.

Melia azedarach tree can grow up to 40 feet (12 meters) tall and has a broad, spreading canopy. The tree features compound leaves with small, fragrant flowers that are typically purple or lavender. The fruits are round, yellow to orange berries that turn brown as they mature.

The tree is often used as an ornamental plant due to its attractive foliage and flowers. In some regions, it’s also planted for shade.
